How adorable are these little rompers?
Brindille & Twig are known for their easy peasy baby/toddler/child patterns using knit and stretch fabrics. Think, sweaters, rompers, jumpsuits and shirts, etc.
I had some super cute whale jersey laying around, and decided it was time to stop hesitating and start sewing stretch CONFIDENTLY!
This pattern is so easy. It can be sewn up in a matter of hours. I’ve already made 3!
I added two snaps on each shoulder strap, although you can just do one (I do like the look of two).
This romper pattern doesn’t have snaps at the crotch, which isn’t too convenient if you have a young child and you need easy access for nappy changes! I think i’ll try and hack it next time and add crotch snaps.
Also, the lining doesn’t run all the way into the legs, its only lined for the top half of the romper, which is basically all you will see anyway.
This pattern also comes with a shoulder tie variation, if you don’t want to use snaps. The ties look much more dainty, but I do love snaps!
I have hacked this pattern to add ruffles to the shoulder straps to give it a little more Oomph! I’ll do another blog post with details on that shortly!
Just a quick note: this pattern runs a little big. If you want a more fitted look, you should go down a size.
